Methods

Geodesy

Precise geodetic measurements with the use of RTK or static GPS systems or Total Stations form the backbone of all of our field work. They are used for staking out geophysical grids, integration with measurement systems or measuring important topographic features and ground control points.

Geophysics – magnetometry

(use slider)

Magnetic prospection offers the fastest spatial coverage of all geophysical techniques and is capable of detecting a variety of anomalies induced by human activity. It is the most widely applied method of non-destructive prospection in archaeology.

Geophysics – Earth Resistance

(use slider)

Earth resistance prospection is often applied in places with architectural remains and multilayered stratigraphy. It also offers high detection of features that contain moisture (i.e. infilled ditches). Depth of measurement depends on various parameters such as electrode configuration.

Geophysics – Ground Penetrating Radar

(use slider)

Ground Penetrating Radar is a fast, efficient and flexible prospection method that can be used rural and urban areas. Its biggest benefit is the registration of anomalies in all depths available to the applied antenna in one scan line. This allows for deriving time slices of subsurface features akin to tomographic visualisations.

Geophysics – Magnetic Susceptibility

(use slider)

Magnetic susceptiblity prospection is often applied in the study of sources of magnetic anomalies as well as landscapes characterised by traces of material production – especially through the use of high temperatures.

Aerial Documentation

(use slider)

Aerial documentation of monuments and architecture with the use of digital photogrammetry and UAV’s.

GIS/CAD documentation

(use slider)

We apply GIS/CAD solutions as a standard in the processing, visualisation, mapping, interpretation and presentation of results of our surveys.

UAV & Terrestrial Laser Scanning Suveys

(use slider)

We apply laser scanning technologies, both airborne and terrestrial, to create 3D documentation of architectural and earthwork monuments.

ALS/LiDAR/DEM processing

(use slider)

ALS/LiDAR is used for creating Digital Elevation Models and broad range of derivatives with the use of available governmental and other data. We offer services in the processing, visualisation and interpretation of pre-acquired ALS/LiDAR point clouds.

Aerial prospection

Aerial prospection aimed at discovering new and monitoring known monuments with the use of light aircraft and UAV’s .

Digital Photogrammetry

Digital documentation / creation of 3D models and derivatives through the application of DLSR photography and geodetic measurements.
